Beautiful, varied route near Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. A beautiful route that is particularly impressive in sunny and clear weather. You can also see the "sundials". From the car park, always follow the canal (against the current), the route is usually signposted. There is an information board on the bridge in front of Grimberg harbour. From there, follow the EPR / Industriekultur cycle path, signpost colour red. Cycle back along the canal (with the current) until you reach the Rhine-Herne Canal. You can also cycle round the Hoheward spoil tip, in which case there is no mountain, but no view either. If you cycle over the slag heap, you should return to the marked route via Drachenbrücke.
