This great cycle tour offers both beautiful views for the eyes and tasty treats for the stomach. The route is easy to cycle in both directions, so there is no recommended direction of travel. At Knechtsteden Abbey, it is worth visiting not only the abbey tavern but also the basilica. The medieval town of Zons offers plenty of atmosphere and many places to stop for refreshments. The Piwipp, formerly a horse changing station and hostel on the historic towpath, is now a pub with a beer garden right on the Rhine and should definitely be visited. Another highlight of the tour is the avenue between Dormagen and Delhoven. The route also passes the zoo here. The neighbouring Geopark provides a brief insight into our geological history.
