Medebacher Bergweg (Fernwanderweg)

Nature-rich long-distance hiking trail in Sauerland, North Rhine-Westphalia If you set off on the Medebacher Bergweg, you will forget the fast pace of everyday life and can recharge your batteries as you explore the narrow paths through unspoilt nature. You are led through lush forests, along babbling brooks, up the region's most beautiful mountains with their chapels and half-timbered villages and learn about the history of the former Gindfeld monastery - the trail connects most of the monastery's 22 stations. The sections in the villages also enrich the hike with the cultural history of the region. The hiking sign is the sign of the canons of the cross, in nature it is depicted in white on a black background, in the villages mostly in colour. The route runs parallel to several other local hiking trails, so you should not be confused by other hiking signs. There are refreshment stops in many places.
