Starting from the car park in Wohlbecker Straße, the route leads out of the city along the east bank of the Dortmund-Ems Canal and follows the canal promenade along the west bank via Hiltrup back to the starting point. A few bridges are passed, so the route can easily be shortened individually. Accessible by bus and train (stop: Institut der Feuerwehr).
