Extensive cycle tour in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park in the Ruhr region, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The starting point of the cycle tour is Dortmund-Aplerbeck railway station, so travelling by public transport is easy. If travelling by car, there are parking facilities at the starting point. The tour is ideal as a day trip from Dortmund and the rest of the Ruhr region.
The route leads in an easterly direction in a wide arc around the Ruhr river. At the Möhne dam, the route enters the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park and then continues southwards back to Dortmund. Due to the ups and downs of the hilly landscape, a good basic level of fitness is recommended.
There are refreshment stops in the villages.
