This route is based on the legendary robber chief Vieting. He and his gang robbed and murdered merchants and other travellers in the area around Parchim. One day, Vieting comes across a young girl in the forest. He takes her prisoner and hides her in his cave on the Sonnenberg near Parchim. This hike leads along this centuries-old trade route and past the places where the robber lived. Along the way, you will see a sculpture of Vieting in the Kiekendemark. The route continues through the Sonnenberg forest to the village of Slate, where the kidnapped girl Isalbe is said to have lived.
