The Kerkstieg is a connecting path between the heath towns of Wesel and Hansted that had been forgotten for many years. The name gives a clue to the origins of the trail. Kerk means church – after the congregations were merged, churchgoers from Wesel had to walk to the church of St. Jakobi in Hanstedt.
Today the Kerkstieg offers ideal conditions for a relaxed hike, even in the warm summer months.
