The Grimmsteig Trail leads along many mottled sandstone formations between Kassel and the Hoher Meißner. The region offers a wide repertoire of cultural and historical treasures as well as unspoilt nature.
The trail can be enjoyed to the full as a circular route on five varied stages. The trail crosses the Söhrewald and Lossetal valleys before leading to Hessisch Lichtenau, over the Hoher Meißner to the heights of the Kaufunger Wald (Bilstein) and finally through the Gläsner Valley back to the starting point.
