This is the 5th stage of the popular long-distance hiking trail "Urwaldsteig", which runs around Lake Edersee over a total length of 68 kilometres. The fifth stage starts in Asel and leads to Scheid. You need to be a little sure-footed on this section - in between, the trail leads along narrow and sometimes stony paths over scree slopes and through rustic forests. The route is marked with the wild service tree leaf and follows the "Knorreichenstieg" trail. You can enjoy magnificent views of Lake Edersee and the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park on the opposite shore.
