Spessartbiken 01: Roßbacher Täler Tour

Varied bike tour in Biebermünd, Hesse. The Alteburg (a settlement dating back to Celtic times) and two wonderful trail sections are the cultural and sporting highlights of this route. The route runs mainly on paved and unpaved forest paths. The section of the route in the Roßbach district partly corresponds to the course of the "Biebergrund Mountain Bike Marathon". After the start at the village community centre in Roßbach, you immediately ride uphill to the Katzenberg and on to the Kaisereiche. Above the Kaisereiche, a trail leads to the village of Lützel. From here, the route follows a forest and meadow path to Lanzingen. After rounding the Büchelstein, you reach the Günthersmühle, a small campsite in the Kasselgrund. Here, the Naturfreundehaus invites you to take a break under old Spessart trees. Alternative: Alternatively, a moderately steep ascent to the "Sieben Wege" (seven paths) takes you to the start of the nature trail around the Alteburg (Celtic ring wall). After the following descent, you reach the Kasselgrund again, where the route now leads along the Kasselbach stream up to the Bittelsberg, the highest point of this tour. The second, longer trail now determines the descent into the Biebergrund, where you finally return to Roßbach on the cycle path.
