Picturesque and scenic circular route near Weilrod, Hesse.
This idyllic circular route leads past Neuweilnau Castle, which was built in the 14th century. Today, the castle houses the forestry office, the registry office and an event hall. The route continues along beautiful forest and field paths to Altweilnau Castle. However, only parts of the curtain wall and a tower remain of this once impressive castle. The tower can be climbed during the day. From the top, there is a marvellous view of the Weiltal valley, Neuweilnau and the Taunus mountains. Altweilnau also has a beautiful market square with restored half-timbered houses. There are refreshment stops along the way.
