Marburg - Teufelsgraben - Spiegelslust

Challenging mountain bike tour near Marburg, Hesse. The route starts in Marburg Wilhelmsplatz, from where it follows the Lahn for a short distance and then crosses a road to the city forest. There is a first descent here before you cycle back up over the dome of the Kirschlehrpfad towards Neuhöfe. Be careful: here you have to pass a narrow, blocked singletrail on a steep slope. The route continues through a beautiful section of forest and past the Dammühle with its beer garden. A few kilometres further on, you leave the Behringwerke behind you and turn left into the Teufelsgraben (be careful: there are sometimes quite large stones hidden under the foliage). After descending into the Teufelsgraben, a few more challenging climbs and no less demanding descents await. On the way back, you will pass several shelters such as the Marienhäuschen, an old quarry, the Behring mausoleum and two viewpoints (Freitagstempel and Obelisk). After enjoying the view of Marburg and the landgrave's castle, take a few steps to access the slope descent. The route is characterised by very steep and sharp hairpin bends.
