Popular circular route in the Taunus Nature Park, Hesse.
The Romans were already traveling in the Taunus - and their traces are still recognizable today. Parts of this hike lead along the Roman Limes, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered to be particularly well preserved in the Taunus.
Some of the highest peaks in the region are climbed on this route; the three towers of the Großer Feldberg can be seen from afar and have been part of the landscape for years. From there, especially from the smaller observation tower, the view over the mountains is magnificent. In addition to the Großer Feldberg, the Altkönig, the third-highest Taunus summit, is passed. There are some very lovely places to stop for refreshments along the way.
