The circular hiking trail "In Goethe's Footsteps" leads past the Goethe House via the Gerbermühle, the Goetheturm and the Goetheruh to the Willemer-Häuschen. The route was once honoured by the magazine of the German Volkssportverein (DVV) as Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in the "City and Culture" category.
The hike begins at the railway station, but can also be started at any point, such as the Goethehaus.
