GIRO Hattersheim RTF - Cycling Marathon

This is the official route of the challenging GIRO cycle marathon, which is more than 210 kilometres long. It leads from the Main plain through the Lorsbach Valley and the densely wooded Taunus Nature Park. The Hintertaunus region is characterised by low-traffic roads and small villages. The route then reaches the highest point in the Hochtaunus region, the "Große Feldberg", which is famous for its striking telecommunications tower. After the long climb, the second section of the route leads towards Idstein, whose historic old town is well worth a visit. From there, the route continues into the Aartal valley in the Rheingau-Taunus district, which is once again very strenuous with its undulating route profile.
