Dove Elbe Circular

This extensive circular route leads through the idyllic Vier- und Marschlande area in south-east Hamburg. The trail opens up the area along the Doven Elbe, a former tributary of the Elbe, and runs almost exclusively on flat, mostly asphalted paths directly on the dyke or on the riverbank. A central highlight is the Hamburg-Allermöhe regatta course and the Dove Elbe water park, which offers great recreational value with its wide expanses of water and green spaces. The reed beds and adjacent meadows are an excellent place to observe grey herons, great crested grebes and, in spring, lapwings. The route is completely flat and ideal for a long bike ride, a long run or a relaxing walk by the water, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
