At high tide, the route from Sandkrug is impassable for approx. 4 km. Then use the signposted "Elbe-Radweg" and you will rejoin the route at Tesperhude. The route is flat as far as Lauenburg and then you have to cycle up the Geesthang (possibly pushing). At Sandkrug you cycle along the floodplain forests of the Elbe. Unfortunately, there are some sandy sections due to flooding (usually in spring).
