Circular route to the quarry near Ringenwalde Route: Ringenwalde - Julianenhof - Libbesicke - Ringenwalde Trail condition: The trail leads through the village of Ringenwalde along cobbled streets with a sandy side path and natural forest paths. The material was quarried in numerous quarries along the Pomeranian terminal moraines. The tour begins in the typical Uckermark street village of Ringenwalde. The marked trail first leads through the village in the direction of the railway station and follows the signs to Julianenhof. After Julianenhof, the route turns right into the forest, straight through the hilly terminal moraine. Follow the signposts to the former quarry in the middle of the forest. As the pits at Werbellinsee were more productive and the transport routes shorter, this quarry was closed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Back in Ringenwalde, we recommend a short detour to the Riesenstein, a remarkable boulder in the village's castle park.
