• Full trail closure: Due to the outbreak of African swine fever amongst wild boar in a section of the Lower Oder Valley National Park, access to this area has been restricted since 11 July 2026 and is expected to remain so until 30 July 2027.

Beautiful section of the Märkischer Landweg long-distance hiking trail (stage 8).
The eighth stage of the Märkischer Landweg begins in the Lower Oder Valley National Park. From here, the route leads to Schwedt an der Oder. You start on the beautiful hiking trail along the Stolper carp ponds. Soon after, you cross the Hohensaaten-Friedrichsthal waterway and continue along the Oder-Neisse cycle path that runs along the top of the dyke.
