Innerer Oberspreewald Forstweg - Nordumfluter

Idyllic nature hike in the state of Brandenburg. The route takes you to the magnificent Spreewald biosphere reserve, where an extensive river system characterises the landscape, which is unique in Central Europe. Around 70% of the fields and meadows here are farmed according to organic guidelines, in line with the UNESCO "Man biosphere" programme. The start is at the Neu Zauche Spreewald harbour within the Wisianka nature development area, where wonderful boat trips can also be booked for groups. The route heads west along the Nordumfluter. Later, where the Nordfließ and Polenzoa rivers cross, you cross the Nordumfluter to walk northwards along a normal dirt track past a small wood. This unique landscape with its constantly changing sights, sounds and smells makes you feel as if you are in a fairytale forest, almost always surrounded by water. You return to the starting point in a southerly direction.
