The first stage of the castle hiking trail begins at Bad Belzig railway station. Before you set off on the official hiking trail out of town, you should of course visit Eisenhardt Castle in the town (via Bahnhofsstraße you can easily reach Schloßstraße and the castle grounds). There is a castle hotel, a museum and a farm shop here. However, if you are planning to walk the whole route, you can save a visit to the castle until the end. To start the hike itself, return to the railway station. You leave the village past allotments and have a beautiful view over the fields and as far as the imposing Eisenhardt Castle. The route continues through the foothills of a dry valley, along fruit trees and, with a bit of luck, you may spot a few skylarks. The route continues via Kranepuhl and the gentle hills of the Fläming landscape to the stage destination, Lühnsdorf. There you can stop off at the Landhaus Alte Schmiede.
