Challenging MTB tour around the highest mountain massif in Germany near Garmisch, Bavaria.
The tour starts in Garmisch and starts quite comfortably towards Grainau (749m). Past the Eibsee lake (982 m), the route climbs steeply uphill to the Hochtörle hut (1,479 m). There you can rest for a while and enjoy the view over the Ehrwald basin. With renewed vigour, the route continues over to Ehrwald and into the Gaistal valley. Continue over the Leuchtascher Ache towards Mittenwald. Please pay attention to the signposting here, as biking is prohibited in some places. The route now takes you down to Elmau and from there back to the starting point in Garmisch.
