Challenging outward and return journey on the Wendelstein-Männlein summit trail, Bavaria, Germany
This route leads to the historic Wendelstein summit, to which there are a total of five different routes. There are spectacular highlights waiting to be explored, including the highest church in Germany! Starting in Hochkreuth, the trail leads along beautiful alpine meadows, initially through forest, later to the alpine huts and on to the Wendelstein Cave. It is part of the cave system that runs through the Wendelstein massif, the panorama of which can even be seen from Munich. The magnificent views of the Alps and the surrounding area can be enjoyed all along the way. Refreshments are available at the Wendelsteinhaus.
If you only want to hike part of the route, you can use the Wendelstein cable car to get there or back. Please note that the Wendelstein cable car does not take you directly back to the starting point of the hike.
