Together with the Himmelsstürmer-Route and the Wiesengänger-Route, the Wasserläufer-Route forms the popular Bavarian long-distance hiking trail network "Wandertrilogie Allgäu".
The twenty-third stage of the Water Strider Route begins in Ermengerst and ends in Durach. Although you pass through some idyllic woodland, you mostly hike through open landscapes with great views, sometimes accompanied by streams and rivers such as the Iller. You also pass through the southern districts of Kempten, where you can take a cosy break.
