This fairly challenging route starts at the car park in Reichenbach and leads along paths, some of which are steep, through the Allgäu Alps up to the Rubihorn, which stands at almost 2,000 metres. As is always the case with hikes in alpine terrain, sturdy footwear and sure-footedness are essential here, particularly near the summit. The ridge path is secured with steel cables at a few particularly challenging sections.
With picturesque panoramic views, nature trails through secluded woodlands, cheerfully babbling brooks and small waterfalls, as well as mountain lakes, this route has all the ingredients you could wish for in a perfect mountain hike. The final stretch to the summit is not suitable for dogs. In wet or snowy conditions, the path becomes a dangerous slippery slope.
