The first part of the route leads through fairly flat terrain on partly paved paths over the Wimbachbrücke bridge to Ramsau near Berchtesgaden. Passing several refreshment stops, the route continues to Hintersee. From there, the trail climbs gently but steadily past the Bindalm, which is open seasonally, to the destination in Hirschbichl. The bus can be used there.
