The trail starts directly at Penzberg railway station, a former mining town. You walk southwards, later heading directly westwards to Riederner Weiher. This artificial body of water is one of the protected moors around Penzberg. After the short section of forest, the meadows that follow offer a relaxing walk with a wide view. Here you can hear many birds chirping and also observe waterfowl at the pond itself. The way back is along the idyllic banks of the Loisach to reach the starting point via Schönmühl and Sankt Johannisrain. Accessible by bus and train. There are refreshment stops in Penzberg.
