Beautiful circular route around the Danube in Regensburg, Bavaria
The footpath first leads over the weir to the other side of the Danube. From there it continues along the Danube towards Mariaort. The first section is a little noisy, as the road runs right next to the footpath, but this changes quickly - the path continues to Mariaort. There, turn left over the footbridge over the Naab to the pilgrimage church. A short detour to the mouth of the Naab into the Danube is recommended. Cross the Große EIsenbahn bridge to the other side of the Danube and finally return to the starting point on gravelled paths. The circular route is very suitable for walking and cycling.
The trail is also suitable for Nordic walking. However, there are some tarmac paths. The route is easy and has only very slight ascents.
