Varied circular hiking trail in the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park
From Ostheim, take hiking trail no. 2 up to Lichtenburg Castle. At the top, you can stop for a bite to eat and enjoy the marvellous view of the southern Rhön. Then follow the blue triangle to Königsburg Castle (a refuge indicates the former location) and continue in the direction of Fladungen. After approx. 400 metres, the path divides and the route continues on hiking trail no. 1 to Nordheim. In Nordheim you cross the Streu and walk over the Dachsberg and the Kaffenberg (markings: blue drop/open triangle). The red triangle points the way back to the starting point.
There are places to stop for refreshments and the route is accessible by bus and train.
