From the WP at Graswang (880m) head SW to the Linder and downstream to the bridge, then right towards Dickelschwaig and on towards Kienjoch. At the "Kuhalmstr." junction, turn right onto the small path and soon follow it steeply uphill in a SW direction through the forest. At 1050m you reach the forest road, which you follow to the left uphill towards Notkarspitze/Kienjoch. At 1320m, leave the Kuhalm on the left and at 1380m, at the signpost "Kienjoch", follow the path to the right heading SW through sparse forest and across the alpine meadows "In den Gruben". At around 1600m, the path climbs steeply and the route climbs in countless hairpin bends up to the saddle (1772m) between Kienjoch (1953m) and Federkopf (1818m). Now follow the ridge in a NW direction up to the summit cross of the Kienjoch (1953m). Down as up.
