The start and finish of the Kemptener Rundwanderweg Ost is the Lohmühltobel car park. You first walk through the Engelhaldepark before crossing under the Schumacherring and leaving the city behind you via the "Path of Trees". This is followed by a short loop around the Bachtelweiher pond. The route then leads through Ludwigshöhe back to Engelhaldepark.
With the exception of the circular route around the Bachtelweiher (well-surfaced gravel path), you walk on tarmac footpaths and cycle paths that are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
