This circular route leads through the picturesque mountain world to the east of Fischbachau in the Wendelstein group. It passes several idyllic alpine pastures and several wonderful views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Alpine foothills and the Chiemgau Alps can be seen from the Hochsalwand.
If the tour is extended to the Lechnerkopf, the hike takes on more of a mountain tour character and scrambling is necessary.
The start is at the "Oberes Jenbachtal" car park. There are also public bathrooms here. It is possible to stop off at the Wirtsalm and the Reindleralm along the way.
