Challenging mountain hike in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park, Allgäu, Bavaria.
Due to its length, the hike (as a circular route) is not for beginners. Thanks to the Hochgratbahn, the sweaty ascent or the knee-straining descent can be avoided. The view from the Hochgrat is really beautiful. The circular hike is simply terrific and, in good weather conditions, an absolute top tour in the Allgäu Alps. Absolutely recommendable, even if there is always a lot going on at the Hochgrat summit.
On average, it takes about 5 hours to complete this route. There is a bus to the starting point and a car park (fee). On the way there are several nice places to stop for a break.
Highlights:
- Nagelfluhkette Nature Park
- 1000 year old yew tree
- Obere Lauch Alpe
- View from the Hochgrat
- Brunnenaualpe
- several waterfalls
