This hike leads to the popular Herzogstand. Start is the parking lot on Kesselbergstrasse. The Herzogstand is a mountain that belongs to the area of the municipality of Kochel am See and one of Munich's local mountains. King Ludwig II had the so-called royal house built below the Herzogstand. The house was destroyed by fire but rebuilt in the same place. Right next to it is the mountain inn, from whose sun terrace you can enjoy Bavarian delicacies, cakes and the wonderful view.
