Varied hike in the Allgäu Alps near Rettenberg, Bavaria.
This varied and panoramic hike starts in Rettenberg and leads up to Alpe Kammeregg via beautiful forest paths. From there, the trail leads across meadows up to the summit of the Grünten. Here you can enjoy the marvellous view of the Illertal valley, the Hörner group and the Nagelfluh mountain range. You can also see the Bavarian Broadcasting transmitter mast just below the Grünten. The route continues towards the Starzachklamm gorge. Shortly before the end of the hike, you can rest your tired legs with a cosy snack at the Klammwirt. Once you arrive in Burgberg, you can either take the bus back to Rettenberg or take the bus to the railway station in Sonthofen.
