This hike can be reached by bus and train (Michelbach railway station). For those travelling by car, there are parking facilities at the starting point. There are also refreshment stops in Michelbach. The route is therefore ideal as a day trip from Frankfurt am Main.
The hiking trail starts in the Alzenau suburb of Michelbach and leads southwards into the Spessart Nature Park. The route then leads up two longer climbs to the Schanzenkopf and the Hahnenkamm until it ends back at the starting point in Michelbach. The route should therefore only be ridden by cyclists in moderate to good physical condition.
