The Kocher-Jagst cycle route runs for around 340 kilometres in a wonderful loop along the two eponymous rivers Kocher and Jagst. In addition to idyllic nature, this route also enchants with numerous towns worth seeing such as Schwäbisch Hall, Bad Friedrichshall, Schöntal and Ellwangen (Jagst).
Many cyclists start in Aalen and cycle the tour in six daily stages of between 37 and 68 kilometres in a clockwise direction. However, the individual stages as well as the starting point and direction of travel can also be planned to suit your own preferences.
With the exception of around 7 km of gravel paths, the Kocher-Jagst cycle path is asphalted throughout and signposted in both directions.
Both Aalen and several other towns along the route can be reached by bus and train. There are overnight accommodation and refreshment stops at the individual stage destinations.
