Lake Constance Cycle Path Stage 1: Constance - Überlingen

This route follows the first stage of the Lake Constance Cycle Route and links Konstanz with Meersburg, circling Lake Überlingen in Germany. From historic Konstanz, the cycle route takes you past the flower-filled island of Mainau, the Marienschlucht gorge and the UNESCO-listed pile dwellings near Bodman-Ludwigshafen. The route runs along the lakeshore via Sipplingen and Überlingen to the wine town of Meersburg. Wild camping is strictly prohibited; overnight stays are in guesthouses, hotels or at local campsites. Drinking water can be topped up in the towns. Both stage locations are connected to the Deutsche Bahn local rail network (https://www.bahn.de). The Lake Constance Cycle Route is a 260 km (162 miles) circular cycle route around Lake Constance through Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which is usually completed in 8 stages.
