Best trails near Moorteich

The name of the hike comes from the fact that the path looks very much like a turkey! Apart from that, the route leads to many interesting rock formations in the Bielatal valley, including the Rosengarten, the Hercules Columns and the Grenzplatte. It then makes a loop through Buchenhain and Wolfstein before returning.

A beautiful circular hike that starts from the village of Markesbach. Along the border, you come across the first foothills of the Sandstone Mountains. The path is not always easy and requires a minimum of stamina. Every now and then you even have to overcome a few larger stones. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
