Popular circular hiking trail in the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges biosphere reserve, Rhineland-Palatinate. This route leads from the Pfälzer Turnerheim to the Jungpfalzhütte. The Jungpfalzhütte is certainly one of the most beautiful, rustic and cosy huts in the Palatinate Forest and, at an altitude of approx. 500 m, offers an outstanding view. This route follows stage 8 of the Palatinate Wine Trail, starting in Dernbach and ending in Annweiler. The path climbs steeply through dense forests toward Eußerthal, before leading through scenic orchards and up another steep ascent between Grüneck and the Franzosenkopf. It then passes through the small wine village of Gräfenhausen and ascends past the Holderquelle to the Krappenfels viewpoint, which offers sweeping views of Trifels Castle before a final descent into Annweiler.
