Popular circular hiking trail in the Hohe Mark Nature Park, North Rhine-Westphalia. The LandStreifer "Haard an der Grenze" circular trail promises a varied and relaxing hiking experience. The route can be started at the hiking car park at "Mutter Wehner", for example. Most of the time you walk through the forest, circling the Haardsee lake and the Brinksknapp nature reserve, but there is also a longer section along the edge of the forest. From the car park, first pass the burial mound and coal protection hut to the Finkenberg (132 m). From here past Rennberg (139 m) and the "Dicken Stein" natural monument to Weseler Berg (126 m). Then past Schwarzer Berg (124 m) and Moosberg (92 m) to Dachsberg (123 m). The paths are in good condition and deer can be seen along the way.

This hike explores the heart of the Haard. It also leads to the Römerbrunnen fountain. A little further on after the fountain, you will also find a statue of St John. The hike mostly follows the sand/gravel paths that lead to these two sights. There are relatively few differences in altitude. Good for the dogs.
