This Teuto loop is a certified premium hiking trail that leads past some very special attractions: The sinkhole lakes. Probably the most beautiful of these lakes created by collapsing salt pans, the Holy Sea, which was formed around 1000 AD, is located at the end of the route. 3rd stage of the Töddenweg, North Rhine-Westphalia. From Tödden, the route first leads to Hopsten, the gateway to Westphalia. Many travelling merchants lived here in the 18th century.
