Best trails near Steinbruch Waldesruh

This route explores the eastern Teutoberger Wald (LP Bielefeld-Ost). It starts in Brackwede and leads straight into the forest. It passes many of the forest's mountain peaks, including the Käseberg, the Rosenberg, the Lamberg, the Habichtsberg and the Butenberg. All the mountains are between 200 and 300 metres high.

This trail leads through the dense Teutoburg Forest, climbing from the historic promenade of the Kasinogarten near Bielefeld up toward the Habichtshöhe. Shaded forest paths pass near the ancient ramparts of the Hünenburg, where early medieval fortifications once stood on the mountain ridge. The route weaves past limestone hills and tall beech trees before reaching open viewpoints above the surrounding valley.
