The journey is easy by train. You can travel to Plattling and change there to the Waldbahn, which will take you to Bayerisch Eisenstein. The tour really starts at the railway station in Bayerisch Eisenstein. The ascent to the Falkenstein requires some fitness with a difference in altitude of around 600 metres.
