Best trails near Großer Traithen

A challenging hike that is worth every step. Marvellous views and wonderful idyllic hiking trails. From Rosengasse, the route leads to Rosengassenalm, along the Jägerwand to the saddle between Kleinem and Grossen Traithen. On the way back you walk along the Unterberger Joch, Steintraithen / Steilner Joch and past the dilapidated Fellalm.

A beautiful circular tour that is ideal as a half-day tour. Although the hike is quite short, you do need a certain level of fitness and sure-footedness. When wet, the paths are sometimes very muddy and therefore extremely slippery! If you are not quite so confident in the mountains, you should only do the tour in good conditions. The rope-insured scramble to the summit of the Kleiner Traithen and the descent in particular are otherwise an unnecessary risk.

From the car park at Gasthaus Rosengasse (1100m) head south along the path to the Brünnstein, at the Rosengassen Alm continue in a SSW direction over the Schneise. Challenging mountain hike from Ursprungstal. This route is a "black mountain trail" (difficult) and requires alpine experience. The final ascent to the summit is not a hike; it is a short, exposed scramble (grade I), secured with steel ropes. Absolute surefootedness and a head for heights are essential for this final section. The route up to the summit is a strenuous but beautiful mountain path that leads past the Fellalm and offers fantastic panoramic views from the summit.

Panoramic hike on the Kleiner Traithen, Bavaria. This tour leads up from the Ursprungtal valley, with a few more metres in altitude to conquer than from any other starting point for this summit. The route is therefore not overcrowded. The ascent is rewarded with an almost 360-degree panoramic view. This easy but quite long stage leads from the well-trodden paths of the Wendelsteinberge into the heart of the Schliersee mountains. Initially leisurely over the alpine pastures of the Himmelmoosalm, then the ascent to the Traithen follows. Then it goes down into the Ursprungtal and on the other side uphill again to the Rotwandhaus.
