This route is stage 1 of the Albtraufgänger, starting in Wiesensteig and ending at the Deutsches Haus near Gruibingen. Departing from Schloss Wiesensteig past historic half-timbered houses, the trail follows the upper Fils valley to the Filsursprung spring and Schertelshöhle cave before ascending to the dramatic Burgruine Reußenstein castle ruins.
