From Stein am Rhein, the route runs along the shores of Lake Gnadensee until you reach Wangen. Then you follow forest paths through the cultivated landscape until you reach the top of the Chroobach at 681 metres. The route then continues through the forest past Hohenklingen Castle and back again.
