The Usedom Island Nature Park covers almost the entire area of Germany's most popular holiday island, Usedom. The diversity of habitats provides suitable living conditions for numerous (endangered) animal and plant species. Hardly anywhere else can you find so many different types of landscape in such a small area: Baltic Sea beaches and inland coasts, lakes and moors, beech forests and dune pines combine with small villages in an old cultural landscape to create a mosaic that surprises with its diversity.

    The Streckelsberg is an approx. 58 metre high cliff edge dune on Usedom. The path to the "summit" leads through an old beech forest with a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. For history buffs, there was an observation tower on the summit to watch the flight path of the V2 rockets fired from the Peenemünde military testing centre during the Second World War.
