This route follows Stage 6 of the SalzAlpenSteig, traveling from Inzell to Bad Reichenhall on a longer day that links moorland, waterfalls, and the edge of the Berchtesgaden Alps. From Inzell, it passes through the Schmelz area and quieter wetland terrain, continues toward the Weißbach Gorge and the Weißbach Falls, and then leads into Bad Reichenhall, giving the stage a more varied character than a simple valley walk and a clear sense of drawing closer to the more dramatic mountain terrain...

The route runs for 90 per cent on mostly asphalted cycle paths and low-traffic side roads. Although there are some steep climbs along the way, especially on the section between Niederndorf and Salzburg, the Mozart Cycle Path is generally quite family-friendly.
