Best cross-country skiing trails in Ammergau Alps Nature Park

The nature park was founded in 2017 and covers 227 square kilometres of the upper Ammertal, the north-east of the Ammergebirge, the Laber-Aufacker massif and the Tertiary coal mountains between Unternogg and the Echelsbach bridge. The ice-age moors provide a habitat for unique plants, including many orchid species in the nature park, as well as the blue marsh star, feverfew and the yellow-flowering Karlszepter, and the traditional cultivation of the cultural landscape can be experienced with farm tours, animal visits and tastings.
